Brandon Meriweather has been suspended two games, drawing the ire of the NFL once again for head-hunting hits.

The NFL has been taking these kinds of things (hits to the head) more and more seriously, though the officials have struggled to properly enforce the helmet-to-helmet rules over the past couple seasons. Meriweather may have a case based on that, but the hits seemed like they were called the right way.
The date of the hearing is not known, but it makes sense that Meriweather would request an expedited process so as to try and be active for the team’s next game.

Whether Meriweather changes his ways remains to be seen. Prior to Monday’s suspension, he had racked up $137,000 in fines through seven seasons in the NFL.
