Champ Bailey injury: Broncos CB ruled out for Week 8

The Broncos will be without the Pro Bowl-caliber member of their secondary on Sunday.

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Broncos Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey will miss Week 8 with a nagging left foot injury, according to the Denver Post's Mike Klis. Bailey missed the first five games of the regular season with the injury, but returned for the Broncos last two games.

The Broncos hope that Bailey's injury will only keep him out of action for a week, per Klis. Broncos head coach John Fox said during his press conference on Tuesday that Bailey was considered "week-to-week." Bailey left the Broncos' Week 7 loss to the Colts on Sunday night in the second quarter of the game. He did not return.

A 15-year veteran, Bailey had only missed 14 games in his first 14 years in the league. The Broncos play Bailey's former team, the Redskins, in Week 8, but have a bye in Week 9. Bailey could return in Week 10 when Denver faces the Chargers on Nov. 10.
