Bryant McKinnie to start at LT for Dolphins

The newest addition to the Dolphins roster will be protecting Ryan Tannehill’s blindside.

Mike Ehrmann

The Miami Dolphins made a move for veteran Bryant McKinnie on Monday, but there was uncertainty with his spot on the team. However, the plan is to start McKinnie at left tackle and move Jonathan Martin to right tackle, according to the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero. The 12-year veteran was dealt to Miami by the Ravens after the Baltimore added Eugene Monroe to their starting lineup.

McKinnie's move to left tackle would also push veteran Tyson Clabo to the bench. McKinnie won a Super Bowl with the Ravens last season and spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Vikings. He earned a Pro Bowl honor in 2009 but has struggled with his weight over the last several seasons. He was inactive for his final two games in Baltimore.

It is unclear whether or not McKinnie will play on Sunday against the Patriots. The Dolphins are currently 3-3 after losing three-straight games.
