Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier confirmed on Wednesday that quarterback Josh Freeman has a concussion. If he can't play on Sunday, Christian Ponder will get the start against the Green Bay Packers.
Josh Freeman injury: Vikings QB has concussion; Christian Ponder could start
Josh Freeman’s nightmare season continues.

Frazier says that he believes Freeman suffered the concussion while taking a hit in the third quarter of Monday's loss to the New York Giants. He announced this injury just one day after stating that Freeman would continue starting despite his poor performance against the Giants. It's possible that Freeman didn't begin to show concussion-like symptoms until after Frazier named him the starter.
If Freeman can't go, the Vikings will go back to Ponder, their former first-round pick. Ponder continued to struggle this season before missing time with a broken rib and falling behind Matt Cassel and later Freeman on the depth chart. Cassel flopped in a brief audition as the starter and was made inactive after the Vikings signed Freeman.
