Michael Vick injury: Eagles QB a full participant in practice Wednesday

Vick was a full participant in Eagles practice Wednesday, and is on track to start Sunday against the Giants.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Michael Vick returned to practice Wednesday as a full participant for the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Jeff McLaine of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Vick has missed the last two games for the Eagles due to a hamstring injury.

Vick may be approaching 100 percent, but even if he isn't full healthy by kickoff he is expected to be the Eagles' starting quarterback Sunday against the New York Giants. Nick Foles struggled mightily last weekend against the Dallas Cowboys before being knocked out of the game with a concussion. As a result, he'll have to go through the NFL's concussion protocol with a final determination of whether he can play likely to come at the end of the week.

The Eagles have managed to avoid a true quarterback controversy. Foles played well in Week 6, sparking some to wonder whether he should take over as the team’s permanent starter. His shaky performance against the Cowboys and subsequent injury should give Vick a chance to lock up the starting job for good if he can perform well against what has been a bad Giants secondary this season.

The Eagles are no doubt looking forward to an offensive spark, after managing just three points and 278 total yards against the Cowboys with Foles under center before giving way to rookie Matt Barkley in the fourth quarter.
