Rob Gronkowski insists he’s healthy

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski says he has recovered from the multiple surgeries he underwent this summer.

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Rob Gronkowski is putting his injury woes to rest. The Patriots tight end, who missed several games over the last two seasons with injuries, told reporters on Wednesday that he is moving past his health issues, according to ESPN's Field Yates.

While Gronkowski still wears a long brace on his forearm, which was surgically repaired this summer, he insists that his health will not be an issue moving forward. He was able to catch eight passes for 114 receiving yards in his season debut on Sunday and played a majority of the offensive snaps during the loss to the Jets.

Gronkowski told the media on Wednesday that as the reason moves along, he will see more playing time. His first game back saw him play 51 or 79 snaps in the overtime loss, so it is likely that he will be a full-time player soon enough. Here is what the fourth-year player had to say about his first game of the season:

"I felt good. Everything checked out well. And all with the injury stuff and everything, I'm going to tell you guys now that that's all going to be in the past, so I won't be answering any more questions about that and the focus now is about the opponents coming up on the week. So my focus now is the Miami Dolphins."

The Patriots will host the Dolphins at 1 p.m. ET Sunday on CBS.
