- Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola and cornerback Aqib Talib practiced for the second straight day on Thursday, according to ESPN's Field Yates. Amendola missed the Patriots' Week 7 loss to the Jets with a concussion, and Talib sat out with a hip injury. Amendola has already missed four games this season with a variety of injuries.
- Lions Pro Bowl wide receiver Calvin Johnson returned to practice on Thursday, according to Lions reporter Tim Twentyman. Johnson has been hampered by a knee injury and took a day to rest on Wednesday. He was able to put up 155 receiving yards and two touchdowns on nine catches in the Week 7 loss to the Bengals.
- Both of the Bills' top running backs, Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller, practiced on Thursday, according to ESPN's Mike Rodak. Jackson injured his knee during the Bills' Week 7 win over the Dolphins. Spiller has been hobbled with an ankle for weeks. There is a chance that Spiller may sit out this Sunday against the Saints.
- Jaguars wide receivers Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts were at practice on Thursday, according to Hays Carylon of the Florida Times-Union. Blackmon has been dealing with a hamstring injury, and Shorts is recovering from a sprained SC joint. Both are expected to play on Sunday against the 49ers in London.
- Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware missed practice for the second straight day on Thursday, according to ESPN's Calvin Watkins. Ware missed a game for the first time in his career in the Cowboys' Week 7 win over the Eagles due to a quad injury. His status is uncertain for Week 8.
