Cowboys injuries: DeMarcus Ware continues to miss practice; DeMarco Murray appears ready to go

While the Cowboys may pack more punch on offense this week, same may not be said about their defense.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

The Cowboys may have more firepower on offense in Week 8, but could still miss out on their best pass rusher against the Lions on Sunday. Dallas running back DeMarco Murray (knee) will likely play against Detroit, but defensive end DeMarcus Ware continues to miss practice with a quad injury, according to ESPN's Calvin Watkins.

Both starters missed the Cowboys' Week 7 win over the Eagles. Ware missed a game for the first time in his career, while Murray continued his history of injury woes. Rookie Joseph Randle served as the starting running back against Philadelphia while Kyle Wilber played in place of Ware. Wilber would likely play in Ware's place again if the veteran was forced to miss another game. The Pro Bowl defensive end has missed practice all week, as of Thursday.

The Cowboys will travel to Detroit to face the Lions on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
