Reggie Bush was a surprise non-participant at Detroit Lions practice Friday. The running back was held out, and was spotted with an ice wrap around his leg just above the right knee, according to Justin Rogers at MLive.com. There is no word yet whether his status for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys is in jeopardy. The Lions have yet to release their final Week 8 injury report.
Reggie Bush injury: Lions RB held out of practice Friday
Reggie Bush was a surprise absentee from Lions practice Friday due to a leg injury. His status for Week 8 is unclear.

[UPDATE: Reggie Bush clarified his status, saying he was held out for precautionary reasons, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. Bush appears set to play Sunday against the Cowboys.
Bush did not appear on the Lions' injury report Wednesday or Thursday, so Friday's news comes as a surprise. There have been no reports of Bush suffering an injury, either last Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals or this week during practice. A left knee injury knocked him out of a game earlier this season.
If Bush sits, backup Joique Bell will be expected to see a lot of touches against the Cowboys. With Bush out in Week 3, Bell had 20 carries for 63 yards and a touchdown, along with four receptions for 69 yards. Bell has since taken on a lesser role, though he still sees a fair number of touches. He had eight touches for 56 total yards last week.
