C.J. Spiller is officially doubtful for Sunday's game between the Buffalo Bills and the New Orleans Saints, according to ESPN's Mike Rodak. Bills head coach Doug Marrone said Friday that the running back will be a game-time decision to play.

C.J. Spiller sat out a third-straight day of practice Friday, and has been officially marked “doubtful” by the Bills for Sunday’s game against the Saints.

Spiller is dealing with an ankle injury that has been bothering him for over a month. Spiller has yet to miss a game due to the injury, but he has also been ineffective running the ball lately and has seen his role gradually decrease. After averaging 16 carries per game over the Bills first four games of the season, he has averaged just eight in three contests since.
Marrone said earlier this week that the Bills were toying with the idea of holding Spiller out against the Saints to let him rest his ankle. Spiller has yet to practice this week, so it appears that the Bills are opting to keep Spiller out. If he sits, Fred Jackson is expected to carry the rushing load for Buffalo with Tashard Choice pitching in as the No. 2 ball carrier.
