Browns’ Brandon Weeden hopes he’ll get another chance to start in Cleveland

Weeden may be down, but he’s not ready to quit.

US PRESSWIRE

Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden isn't giving up hope yet, despite the fact that Jason Campbell will be starting for the Browns this week when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs.

According to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer’s Mary Kay Cabot, Weeden doesn’t want to be traded and would like to win his starting job back for the Browns:

“I hope I get another shot,” he said Friday. “I hope (it’s here). I’m champing at the bit. You never know. This league is crazy. Whether it’s this Sunday, four Sundays down the road or at the end of December, I’ll be ready.”

Weeden, who was drafted No. 22 overall in the 2012 NFL Draft, has struggled throughout his two-year career and doesn't have as much room for error as other quarterbacks due to his age. The current Browns regime did not draft Weeden and has no ties to the former Oklahoma State quarterback.

First Brian Hoyer and now Campbell have beaten out Weeden for the Browns' starting quarterback job so it seems like Weeden's best chance to start won't come in Cleveland.
