Percy Harvin injury: Seahawks WR out vs. Rams

Seattle will have to wait at least one more week to add its star wide receiver.

Stephen Brashear

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin will be sidelined at least one more week after the team announced Saturday he's out for Monday's game against the St. Louis Rams.

With the former Pro Bowler returning to practice this week after spending the first couple months of the season recovering from a hip injury, speculation ran rampant that he’d return to Seattle’s lineup Monday night. A dynamic offensive weapon and often-productive fantasy player, both Seahawks fans and fantasy owners will have to wait one more week to see Harvin’s talents in action.

Acquired from the Minnesota Vikings during the offseason, Harvin figures to be an integral part of the Seahawks' offense going forward. While the team has managed alright on offense with Sidney Rice, Doug Baldwin and Golden Tate getting most of the reps at wide receiver, Harvin brings a new dynamic that could elevate Seattle to another level.

Harvin needs to get onto the field before any of that can happen, but in an injury-shortened 2012 season, he still managed 62 catches for 677 yards and three touchdowns in nine games. During his best season, in 2011, he accumulated 1,312 total yards and eight touchdowns. He’s also a great returner, having brought back a kickoff for a touchdown in each of his four NFL seasons.
