Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals could part ways, per report

Larry Fitzgerald may be playing in a new city soon enough.

Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

The Cardinals and Larry Fitzgerald may be destined for a divorce. The Pro Bowl wide receiver is likely to be dealt to another team in the offseason if he is not traded by Tuesday's deadline, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Fitzgerald has played for the Cardinals since being selected in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft.

Fitzgerald has gone through a long list of names at quarterback during his tenure and seemingly has only been able to sustain success with former Super Bowl winner Kurt Warner at the helm. In 2011, the three-time All-Pro signed an eight-year, $120 million deal with the Cardinals. Fitzgerald is signed through the 2018 season.

With Carson Palmer at quarterback this season, Fitzgerald has caught 32 passes for 422 yards and four touchdowns. The Cardinals are currently 3-4 and have not been to the playoffs since 2009.

The Cardinals will host the Falcons at 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday on FOX.
