The New England Patriots made a late comeback against the Miami Dolphins at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, rallying from a 14-point deficit in the second half to win the game 27-17.

Were the refs to blame for Miami’s second-half collapse?
The Patriots improved to 6-2 with the win, while the Dolphins fell to 3-4 and slipped out of the division title race. Of course, the folks over at the Phinsider were upset about the results of Sunday’s game and went as far as to blame the referees for what transpired.

Look, I know Miami has issues. Ryan Tannehill was again sacked a lot, this time six times, though most of those came in garbage time as the Dolphins could do nothing by try to drop back and pass against 6 and 7 man blitzes. Tannehill has to secure the ball better, having lost another fumble and an interception (along with a pick on a 4th and 24 heave with a minute left in the game and receivers who did not appear to be running full speed that was also grabbed by the Patriots).
But, the story of this game was the 11 Dolphins players on the field versus the 11 Patriots and 7 refs.
The Patriots fans were singing a different tune after the win. Within a matter of a few drives, Patriots fans went from thinking their team was sunk to having a renewed faith in the 2013 season.

There were certainly some concerns from this game. For about 35 minutes, the Patriots looked purely bad. If things hadn’t turned around in those last 25 minutes, we’d be singing a completely different song post-game. But the Patriots did turn things around. They found a way to play their best football of the season, and they found a way to move to 6-2.
