The Patriots and Eagles have made a deal prior to the trade deadline. Philadelphia has traded veteran nose tackle Isaac Sopoaga and a sixth-round pick for a Patriots fifth-round pick, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Zach Berman.

Sopoaga will likely fill the void left by Vince Wilfork, who was placed on injured reserve earlier this season. With the two picks being moved, this was clearly a way for the Eagles to get Sopoaga off their books and give the Patriots some much-needed depth on the defensive line. The veteran signed with the Eagles this summer after nine season in San Francisco. He signed a three-year deal worth $12 million in March. Sopoaga's deal will run out in 2015.
Sopoaga has $1 million in guarantees due to him in 2014. It is unclear whether or not he will play in Sunday's game against the Steelers. He has registered just 10 tackles in eight games.
