Jones-Drew has just 138 rushing yards on the year, at a career low 2.4 yards per carry. Despite his struggles this year, Ian Rapoport reports that the organization will consider bringing back the 28-year-old running back. A move is unlikely to occur in 2013 as the Jaguars will focus on the remaining 10 games before looking at their future roster.
Depth behind Jones-Drew is thin, with Justin Forsett and Jordan Todman rushing for just 28 yards and a touchdown combined. The lack of quality depth could be a factor in deciding if the Jaguars retain Jones-Drew, who took over for long-standing veteran Fred Taylor following the 2008 season.
Jacksonville is in its first year under general manager David Caldwell, who has elected to build the franchise through the draft rather than make hasty moves. The team didn't spend a lot of money in free agency or rush the selection of a quarterback, instead focusing on the evaluation of Blaine Gabbert.
