Carolina Panthers linebacker Jon Beason could be on his way to the New York Giants if the teams can complete progressing trade negotiations, as first reported by Brett Jensen of WFNZ 610 AM in Charlotte.

Jay Glazer adds late-round compensation will be sent to Carolina for the two-time All-Pro defender, who is scheduled to take a physical in New York tomorrow morning, should the deal get done.

Beason lost his job as starting outside linebacker this week to Chase Blackburn, who arrived from the Giants as a free agent during the offseason. The Panthers and Giants have been tied to each other throughout 2013 since Dave Gettleman arrived from New York to be Carolina's general manager. The sides signed free agent wide receivers from each other, played in Week 4 and now could finalize this trade.

Injury has decimated Beason, a seven-year pro, since he tore an Achilles three years ago. He has appeared in just eight games, totaling a combined 42 tackles, during the three years since his last Pro Bowl.
