The Giants are banged up in the secondary and in order to add to the roster, they have ended the season for one of their veteran cornerbacks. The Giants have placed cornerbacker Aaron Ross on injured reserve with a back injury. Ross was injured during New York's Week 5 loss to the Chiefs.
Aaron Ross injury: Giants place cornerback on IR
The Giants are going out with “the old” to make room for “the new.”

Ross was re-signed by the Giants this summer after being cut by the Jaguars. He spent his first five seasons with the Giants before spending one year in Jacksonville. Ross played in four games this season and started two of them. He finishes the year with four tackles, four pass deflections and an interception.
The roster spot once occupied by Ross will now go to safety Will Hill. The defensive back was recently reinstated by the league after he served a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. The Giants also promoted rookie Charles James from the practice squad.
The Giants will host the Eagles on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
