Calvin Johnson inactive for Lions vs. Packers
The veteran receiver is out on Sunday for Detroit after suffering a knee injury last week.
Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson will not play on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, according to the team's official Twitter.
Johnson suffered a knee injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4 and did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday. It seemed that the veteran receiver could be able to go, however, after he practiced in limited fashion on Friday. Reports over the weekend suggested Johnson might be able to play.
Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford was already going to struggle keeping up with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers passing attack since his No. 2 receiver Nate Burleson is already out with a broken forearm. On the season, Johnson has 21 receptions for 312 yards and four touchdowns for the 3-1 Lions, who are attempting to keep pace in the competitive NFC North.
Johnson's will likely be replaced by a combination Ryan Broyles and Kris Durham on Sunday.
