Texans quarterback Matt Schaub continues his embarrassing turn from starter to interception machine on national television. Schaub was benched for backup T.J. Yates following a three-interception performance through three quarters on Sunday night.
Texans bench Matt Schaub for T.J. Yates
The Texans have apparently seen enough interceptions for one night.

For his most entertaining turnover, he tied a career-high by throwing his third interception into the hands of 49ers defensive lineman Tony Jerod-Eddie. The big man returned the pick for a nice gain and caused Schaub to take a permanent seat on the bench. Well, almost permanent, as he was seen talking to Yates after he was designated to take the veteran starter's place, according to the Houston Chronicle's Brian Smith. He then returned to his spot on the bench.
Schaub has thrown a pick-six in four straight games, which is an NFL record. There is no word whether this will be a permanent benching for Schaub or just a temporary move. The Texans are trailling the 49ers by a score of 31-3 in the fourth quarter.
