Owen Daniels injury: Texans TE has a sore leg

Owen Daniels made it through Sunday’s game, but is now getting his leg checked out.

Update: According to a report from John McClain, Daniels underwent two MRIs on Monday and his injury could be serious enough to keep him out a few weeks.

Coming off three straight losses and with Matt Schaub struggling, the Texans are having plenty of issues. To make matters worse for the offense, Owen Daniels' leg is sore enough he's getting it checked out by doctors, according to Tania Ganguli of ESPN.com.

Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said Daniels is getting his fibula checked. The extent of the injury is unknown and Kubiak didn’t provide any details other than to say the tight end was “sore.” Daniels played the entire game against San Francisco, catching six passes for 60 yards.

Losing Daniels for any length of time would be a blow for the Texans. He's second on the team with 24 receptions and third on the team with 252 receiving yards. Schaub frequently relies on Daniels as a safety valve and the 30-year-old tight end is second on the team in targets, trailing only Andre Johnson.

If Daniels did miss any time, Garrett Graham would likely fill in at tight end. Graham has 21 catches for 141 yards this season and is tied with Daniels for the team lead with three receiving touchdowns.
