Vick is expected to miss two weeks with a hamstring injury, making Nick Foles the Eagles' starter by default. Philadelphia's backup quarterback was impressive in a reserve role, as Foles completed 64 percent of his passes and threw two touchdowns in Sunday's win.
Foles’ youth is likely the reason some outlets reported on a potential controversy. The second-year player is nine years the junior of Vick and has played well in a limited role, throwing for 246 yards and posting a quarterback rating of 122.4.
Unlike most controversies this isn’t a situation where the incumbent starter has been playing poorly. Vick was on pace for one of his best seasons, throwing for five touchdowns and two interceptions with more than 1,000 yards passing on the season.
