Bradshaw injured his neck against San Francisco in Week 3. He was initially listed as day-to-day, but missed Indianapolis’ next two games. He attempted to rest and rehab the injury to avoid season-ending surgery. Bradshaw visited several specialists and took some time to review the information before making a decision, according to Mike Chappell.
The 27-year-old Bradshaw has been injury-plagued during his career, although most of his injury issues in New York were due to problems with his foot. With him now out for the rest of the season, the Colts will rely heavily on the recently-acquired Trent Richardson. Richardson and Bradshaw split time in Week 3, but with Bradshaw out Richardson will see the bulk of the carries with Donald Brown moving into the No. 2 role.
Bradshaw was off to a solid start in his first season with the Colts. He carried 41 times for 186 yards, including a 95-yard performance against San Francisco. He is the second Indianapolis running back to suffer a season-ending injury. Vick Ballard tore his ACL earlier this season.
