Dolphins investigation for Incognito, Martin expected to take ‘several weeks’
The NFL’s investigation will be detailed and exhaustive as it digs into the hazing scandal.

The report details plans to investigate not only the conduct of specific players and their relationship and role in the case, but also the role of the Dolphins coaches and management. There is concern with a lack of organizational oversight from ownership on down which could have contributed to the detrimental culture in the locker room that is now being reported, amidst concerns over how the Dolphins initially handled Martin’s departure from the team and subsequent reports of hazing.

Wells, according to sources, has a lengthy list of interview subjects and plans to be meticulous and diligent as he probes broader issues besides just the inter-personal dynamics between Martin and Incogntio, including the larger locker room culture there, how pervasive issues of bullying and harassment might be, and what role, if any the coaching staff, management, and ownership may have played — implicit or complicit — in the team’s handling and control of workplace issues.
Martin, in his second season in the NFL, left the team abruptly on Oct. 28 after an incident in the cafeteria and was quickly placed on the non-football injury list. It soon became public that Martin was allegedly the victim of hazing and bullying and that Incognito was the ringleader, with the veteran lineman suspended by the team after Martin’s legal counsel handed over evidence of the abuse.
The Dolphins play on Sunday for the first time since the scandal broke.
