Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was hit low in Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers and will undergo an MRI to determine if he sustained a serious injury in the win, according to Andrew Siciliano of the NFL Network.

Manning was tackled by defensive tackle Corey Liuget in the second half and Manning injured his ankle on the play. He was able to stay in the game, but it was noticeable he was playing through pain. There is no further update at this time, but Manning plans to play in Week 11's divisional matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

An injury to Manning would derail Denver's season less than two weeks after head coach John Fox was forced to leave the team and undergo heart surgery. Brock Osweiler is the team's backup quarterback, but even in a limited role he can't be relied on to run a vertical offense.
