Michael Floyd injury: Cardinals WR is day-to-day with shoulder sprain

Michael Floyd is still ailing from the shoulder injury that knocked him out of Sunday’s win over the Texans.

Michael Floyd is day-to-day with a shoulder sprain, Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians told reporters Monday. Floyd suffered the injury late in the first quarter during the Cardinals' win over the Houston Texans on Sunday. He did not return to the game after notching two receptions for 31 yards.

The Cardinals ultimately didn't need Floyd on Sunday. He was the team's leading receiver when he left, but Andre Roberts and Rob Housler were able to pick up the slack. Roberts had five receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown, and Housler had four receptions for 57 yards and another score during the 27-24 win in Glendale, Ariz.

Should Floyd miss extended playing time, the Cardinals' offense could take a big hit, however. He is second on the team with 36 receptions for 464 yards and two touchdowns on the season. Larry Fitzgerald leads the team with 39 receptions for 493 yards and five touchdowns, but has been surprisingly inconsistent throughout the season. He was held to three catches for 23 yards on Sunday.
