Despite another impressive showing from Case Keenum, the Texans could not get a win on the road as the Cardinals improved to 5-4 in a loaded NFC West.
Cardinals ‘D’ dominates 2nd half

Stephen DunnInstead, familiar problems along the offensive line and in the secondary reared their heads, as the Texans turned a 3-point halftime lead into a 3-point loss in Arizona. They managed just 41 yards of offense after halftime after gaining 194 in the first, failing to capitalize on big plays made on defense.
If there was any positive takeaway for the offense, it was that Case Keenum once again played reasonably well, according to Vega at Texans blog Battle Red Blog.

Jennifer Hilderbrand-USA TODAY SKeenum looked to be on track for another strong performance. He has been a pleasant surprise for the Texans since taking over for Matt Schaub. Keenum faced a heavy pass rush in the second half, however, and was never able to regain his first-half rhythm. For the game, he was sacked three times, twice in the second half.
The Texans defense forced a punt to take over at their own 17-yard line with 2:06 remaining and a chance to drive for the win. The offense stalled just as it had all half, however. Facing fourth-and-3, Keenum was once again affected by pressure and his last pass attempt was knocked away by a defender over the middle.

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY SportsYes, these are two teams headed in opposite directions, doing the opposite of what we expected. And they will meet on Sunday in Arizona with an unlikely favorite trying to move above .500 in the second half of a season for the first time since 2009.
If Palmer can just run an average offense, and avoid turnovers unlike he has, with 14 interceptions in eight games, then Arizona could be headed back to the playoffs for the first time since the Warner era. If he doesn’t, they might have to dip right back into the veteran quarterback pool and hope to get lucky.

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY SportsReed has totaled 16 tackles in six games, without an interception or forced fumble. He’s on pace for the lowest total of his career, and is now being used as a rotational defensive back in nickel situations. Phillips would not say whether Reed would regain his starting job, saying that he will rotate in depending on the offense scheme the team faces.

Thomas B. SheaOn SB Nation’s six-man panel, four picked the Texans and two picked the Cardinals. Yahoo! also favored the Texans slightly, with two of three taking Houston. CBS Sports and ESPN put their faith in the Cardinals, however. The former picked Arizona, 5-4, and the latter was even more bullish at 7-1, with six experts yet to respond.
Vegas currently likes the Cardinals as 2.5-point favorites, according to Odds Shark. Whichever way the game goes, fans should expect a tight bout.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsThe oddsmakers aren’t confident in either team being heavily favored in this one. The Texans are the better team on paper, but they’ve failed to execute this season. That shows in the opening line, as Arizona opened as 3-point favorites, which is likely due to home-field advantage. The line has narrowed further throughout the week, with the Cardinals as low as 1-point favorites on some books.
In other words, the Texans would probably be slight favorites if the game was played at their stadium, as well. The over/under for the matchup is set at 41 points. That total has gone over in six of Houston’s lat nine games and under in five of Arizona’s last seven games.
