AFC South injury report, Week 10: Jake Locker likely done for year

The Titans will likely be without their starting quarterback for the rest of 2013 after he suffered a foot injury in Week 10.

Don McPeak-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars were surprisingly the only team in the AFC South to earn a win in Week 10, defeating the Tennessee Titans, 29-27. The biggest loss for the Titans, though, was a foot injury for quarterback Jake Locker which is expected to sideline the third-year passer for the remainder of the season.

Locker, 25, suffered what is believed to be a Lisfranc injury and the Titans are “99 percent certain” it will prove season-ending, according to ESPN’s Paul Kuharsky. Backup Ryan Fitzpatrick previously filled in for Locker earlier in the year, but the team lost both games he started. After taking over for Locker on Sunday, Fitzpatrick completed 22-of-33 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns.

The Jaguars lost linebacker Paul Posluszny to a concussion and his status for next Sunday is not yet known. If he's unable to play, Russell Allen is expected to fill his spot at middle linebacker, although it's unknown who would take over at the strong-side linebacker position.

Rounding out the AFC South injuries was a broken thumb for Colts offensive lineman Mike McGlynn. While he is expected to get a cast and be listed as day-to-day, a short week for Indianapolis before their Thursday night matchup against the Titans could force the Colts to rely on Joe Reitz or Khaled Holmes to fill in for McGlynn.
