NFC West injury report, Week 10: Vernon Davis, Brandon Browner injured

The NFC West had a good week on the field, going 3-1, but a couple teams suffered significant injuries.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

With St. Louis blowing out the Colts, Arizona beating Houston and Seattle knocking off Atlanta, it was a good week for most of the NFC West. The 49ers were the only team to lose and San Francisco may have also suffered a couple of key injuries in the process.

Here’s a look at all of the NFC West injury news from Week 10.

San Francisco

The 49ers' tight end depth was tested on Sunday with Vernon Davis leaving the game with a concussion and backup Garrett Celek exciting with a hamstring injury. Neither player returned to the game. The 49ers' offense has struggled mightily without Davis, so his health will be something to watch moving forward.

Davis wasn't the only 49er to leave with a concussion, with rookie safety Eric Reid also suffering a concussion. This is the second concussion Reid has suffered this season and the safety is likely to miss Sunday's game against New Orleans.

Seattle

The Seahawks cruised to a win against Atlanta, but may have lost cornerback Brandon Browner in the process. Browner left the game with a groin injury and Pete Carroll said Browner could be out for "quite a while." The team still does not know the full extent of the injury, although it sounds like Browner will at least miss some time. Defensive tackle Tony McDaniel left the game with a hamstring injury, but Carroll said he could have returned if necessary.

Although they lost Browner, the Seahawks are beginning to get healthy. The team activated Percy Harvin on Monday and Max Unger, Russell Okung and Breno Giacomini are expected to return to the starting lineup this week.

St. Louis

The Rams picked up a big win at Indianapolis and managed to do so without taking any more significant injury hits. James Laurinaitis left the game due to a cut, but returned after receiving stitches in his right ear. Benny Cunningham also left the game briefly before returning.

Cornerback Brandon McGee suffered a hip injury, the severity of which is still unknown. He was listed as questionable to return but did not play the rest of the way. The Rams have a bye week this week, giving McGee and others an extra week to recover.

Arizona

The Cardinals offense had issues at times against Houston and part of the reason was the absence of wide receiver Michael Floyd. Floyd left the game during the first half with a shoulder sprain and did not return. Head coach Bruce Arians said Floyd is day-to-day going forward. At 5-4, the Cardinals are in the thick of the playoff race and will travel to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars.
