Jonathan Martin sets meetings with Dolphins, NFL investigator

Martin is scheduled to meet with “Dolphins brass” and Ted Wells, a New York-based attorney leading the NFL’s investigation on the Dolphins.

Jonathan Martin might never play for the Miami Dolphins again, but he will meet with them, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the offensive tackle will meet with "Dolphins brass" on Wednesday before having a meeting with Ted Wells on Friday. Wells is a New York-based attorney that has been hired by the NFL to lead the investigation on the situation that led to the departure of Martin from the Dolphins.

Martin, 23, has been the subject of a media storm, as his lawyer claims the second-year player was the subject of bullying and harassment in the Miami locker room that led to his departure. At the center of the storm is guard Richie Incognito, who admittedly left a racially charged voicemail for Martin, and has since been suspended by the Dolphins indefinitely.

While Incognito has spoken publicly about the situation, Martin has remained quiet since leaving the team as statements from his lawyer have been the only public releases. It appears unlikely that he will return to play for the team in 2013, regardless of the outcomes of his meetings this week.

The Dolphins lost on Monday night to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 22-19, which included two sacks on the final offensive possession of the game for Miami. The team will next host the San Diego Chargers in Week 11 and the Carolina Panthers in Week 12.
