Reed was critical of the Texans' coaching following the team's loss to Arizona. It's unclear whether this played a role in his release, but the veteran safety had seen his role dwindle in recent weeks. Reed lost his starting job to third-year veteran Shiloh Keo, becoming a rotational defensive back on obvious passing downs.
The Miami Dolphins were scheduled to meet with offensive tackle Jonathan Martin this week, but the team has postponed the meeting at the request of the NFL.
Martin left the team after alleging he was bullied and abused as a member of the team. Initially it appeared he would meet with Dolphins’ owner Stephen Ross on Wednesday to discuss the issues, but the NFL wanted to ensure its lawyer wanted an opportunity to meet with Martin first.
Houston's season has been a disaster since preseason predictions pegged the Texans to be a Super Bowl contender. Now the team has placed running back Arian Foster on IR, ending his season.
Foster had returned from an early-season hamstring injury, but had been dealing with a back injury. It's this back injury that placed him on IR and Ben Tate will now become the team's starting running back.
