Chargers vs. Dolphins 2013 odds and lines: San Diego favored on the road

The San Diego Chargers are favored over the Miami Dolphins on the road in Week 11.

The Miami Dolphins are set to host the San Diego Chargers for a Week 11 matchup on Sunday. Miami (4-5) is coming off an embarrassing loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football, while San Diego (4-5) recently fell to the AFC West rival Denver Broncos in a relatively close game.

We say relatively close because the Broncos are no 8-1 and have been dominating competition, so an eight point loss isn’t all that bad, though the Chargers are now under .500 because of said loss. Miami’s loss to Tampa Bay was embarrassing because the Buccaneers are simply a mess right now, and were winless heading into their prime time matchup.

That said, the Dolphins did open as narrow favorites over the Chargers at home. They opened as 1.5-point favorites, though the line has shifted in favor of the Chargers, according to OddsShark. The Chargers can be had favored by as much as 2.5 points, and that could widen further throughout the week.

Miami likely got the initial nod from odds makers due to home-field advantage, but the Chargers are seen as the better team by just about everyone, and the loss to Tampa Bay sealed the deal. The over/under for the matchup opened at 45.5 points. That total has gone under in four of San Diego’s last five games, but over in six of Miami’s last eight.
