Severe weather update for Chicago, NFL week 11: More storms moving through

Radar show storms moving through Chicago as of 1 p.m. CT and another round of storms is on its way

The NFL evacuated Soldier Field, in Chicago earlier this afternoon due to severe weather moving through the Chicago area. While Chicago and Soldier Field was never under a tornado warning they were under a Tornado Watch as well as a severe thunderstorm warning.

Radar as of 2 p.m. ET continue to show a severe storm moving through downtown Chicago with tornado warning just off to the south and southeast of the city. Another round of strong storms will come in behind this line of storms. These storms could also produce strong damaging winds, frequent lightning and the potential of tornadoes.

NFL suspended the play on the field between the Chicago Bears and the visiting Baltimore Ravens. With the next line of storms coming in right behind the current storms, it would be wise for the NFL to wait these storms out before letting fans back into their seats.

Severe weather is a threat through out the Midwest, Great Lakes and Ohio Valley today. If you are in any of these areas this afternoon and evening, take all warnings seriously and if you are told to seek shelter or your game is interrupted by local media, listen and do as they instruct.
