The Detroit Lions are tied for the NFC North lead with a 6-4 record, and could be getting some help to maintain their playoff positioning.
Nate Burleson injury: Lions WR could return in Week 12
The Lions could be getting a playmaker back in a week if everything goes according to plan.
Wide receiver Nate Burleson could be back in Week 12 for Detroit, according to the Detroit News. Burleson has been out of action since Week 3 after breaking his forearm when trying to hold a pizza box from slipping of the passenger seat. Yes, seriously.
Burleson provides a nice option for quarterback Matthew Stafford when Calvin Johnson isn't open. Burleson has proven to be a valuable weapon for Detroit during his four seasons in Motown. However, Burleson has only played in nine games between 2012 and 2013, dealing with a variety of injuries. In his first two years with the Lions, Burleson had 196 targets.
Beyond Johnson, the next receiver on the yardage total list for Detroit is Kris Durham. Durham has 357 yards on 29 catches. Despite only playing three games, Burleson is third for Lions receivers with 239 yards.
