Ted Wells issues statement on Dolphins bullying investigation

The Jonathan Martin, Richie Incognito saga continues with the investigator’s statement.

The Miami Dolphins bullying saga has been in the news for weeks, with offensive linemen Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin at the epicenter.

Last week, investigator Ted Wells talked to Martin about the issues he had with Incognito and the team. Now, he has released a statement on the matter, per Albert Breer:

“We look forward to meeting with Dolphins players, coaches and staff in order to get the facts and prepare a thorough and fair report. The Dolphins organization has been very helpful in arranging the interviews and urging their personnel to cooperate with the investigation. We have asked all Dolphins personnel to respect the process and avoid commenting on the investigation.”

It is unclear whether or not Martin or Incognito will ever return to the Dolphins. Martin has taken a leave of absence from the team because of the bullying while Incognito has been suspended indefinitely. Incognito has proclaimed he is waiting for the facts to come out, maintaining that his voicemail was nothing more than joking around.

Without the two linemen, Miami has been able to stay in the playoff race at 5-5, tied for the sixth and final playoff spot in the AFC with the New York Jets. The two teams will face each other twice in the coming weeks.
