Rahim Moore injury: Broncos DB will miss ‘several games’

Moore suffered a “serious lower leg injury” in the first half of the Broncos’ victory on Sunday night.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Broncos will be without safety Rahim Moore for "several games" after the third-year defensive back suffered "a serious lower leg injury," according to a report from Joan Niesen and Mike Klis of the Denver Post.

Moore, 23, left the team's Sunday night victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in the second quarter, although no injury timeout was called for his departure. He recorded two tackles and a defended pass before he was replaced in the game by safety Mike Adams.

Perhaps best remembered for allowing a 70-yard touchdown pass to Jacoby Jones in the final minute of regulation in a playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens, Moore has had a solid 2013 season with two interceptions, six passes defended and 44 tackles.

A second-round selection in the 2011 NFL Draft, Moore has missed only one game so far in his NFL career and has made 32 starts. Starting in his place will likely be Adams, a 10th-year veteran who filled in for Moore on Sunday night, although David Bruton is listed as the backup free safety on the team's depth chart.
