Vikings vs. Seahawks 2013: Percy Harvin gives Seattle fans electrifying sneak peek

Harvin touched the ball just twice in the Seahawks win, but showcased plenty of playmaking ability with his limited opportunities. It was an unnecessary reminder to Vikings fans, who are beginning to turn their eyes to the 2014 draft.

The Seattle Seahawks rolled to an expected blowout of the Minnesota Vikings Sunday, fighting off a pesky first-half performance to win, 41-20, but it was the debut of former Viking and current Seahawk Percy Harvin that had fans excited in Seattle.

Harvin had just two touches in his return from offseason hip surgery -- his first action since being traded from Minnesota to Seattle -- but showcased his electric playmaking in both.

His first touch and only catch of the night was a highlight reel one-handed grab that went for 17 yards and had Jacson Bevens over at Field Gulls “hanging off the light fixtures with excitement.“

Then there was his electrifying kick return, which Jacson narrates with a literary flourish.

As Blair Walsh’s kick cartwheeled towards the right corner of the endzone, Harvin glided underneath, cradled it in his Herculean arms, and began his return. See, Percy Harvin is what happens when God sees fit to wrap a lightning bolt in human flesh, and we got to see it in the open field for the first time. The return lasted 58 yards but it seemed over in a zig-zagging flash. The dude just moves differently, like, on an elemental level. It was the last time [Sunday] we’d see him with the ball, but damn it if that sneak-peek wasn’t tantalizing.

The Vikings, meanwhile, now sit at 2-8. With their 2013 season all but over, Ted Glover at Daily Norseman has moved past the Christian Ponder era and thinks the team should begin figuring out its quarterback situation heading into 2014.

I wanted Ponder to succeed, but after today, I have moved on. Matt Cassel wasn't any better, so the Vikings might as well play Josh Freeman until the end of the season. Then figure out of if Freeman is the guy, or draft Teddy Bridgewater, Johnny Football, Tajh Boyd, or someone else. Yay.
