NFL injury report, Week 11: Redskins hurting following loss to Eagles

The Eagles and Giants avoided serious injuries on Sunday, but the Redskins cannot say the same.

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Overall, Week 11 was a good week for the NFC East. The Eagles and Giants both picked up wins while the Cowboys got some rest during the bye week. The week was not as kind to the Redskins who saw their playoff chances all but evaporate with a loss to Philadelphia.

Washington also suffered several injuries and could be without one offensive contributor for the rest of the season. Here’s a complete look at the NFC East injury report.

Cowboys:

Coming off a bye week, the Cowboys could get a few key players back from injuries soon. Miles Austin is expected to return this week, according to Calvin Watkins. Austin missed the last three games due to a hamstring injury. DeMarcus Ware and Morris Claiborne didn't practice on Monday, but the two could also return this week, according to Todd Archer. Sean Lee and Justin Durant are still expected to miss a few more weeks.

Eagles:

Despite leaving the game briefly, LeSean McCoy and Trent Cole avoided serious injuries. McCoy injured his hamstring during the second quarter, going down to the ground and immediately grabbing at his leg. He returned later in the game and said the injury may have just been a cramp, according to Zach Berman. Cole was evaluated for a concussion after a big collision, but also returned to the game.

Giants:

Jason Pierre-Paul played on Sunday despite being questionable due to a shoulder injury and it sounds like that won't change any time soon. Tom Coughlin said he's sure Pierre-Paul is sore following the game, but said the defensive end will continue to "work his way through it" according to Paul Schwartz.

Redskins:

Washington lost to the Eagles on Sunday and suffered several injuries along the way. The most significant appears to be the LCL injury suffered by Leonard Hankerson. The team announced Hankerson suffered the knee injury and may need surgery. Stephen Bowen and E.J. Biggers both underwent an MRI, but the results came back negative, according Chris Russell. Wide receiver Pierre Garcon injured his ankle while tight end Jordan Reed left the game with a concussion and will now follow the NFL's protocol to return.
