Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon could potentially lose out on millions of dollars in salary and bonuses after being suspended indefinitely without pay by the team for a violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Per Big Cat Country, the Jaguars could save nearly $10 million if they release the receiver after this season.
While missing a total of 13 weeks will cost Blackmon roughly $2.7 million of his 2013 salary, according to Jason Fitzgerald of OverTheCap, he could have more money in jeopardy as well. Due to receive a $1.7 million roster bonus in March and another $1.39 million bonus in 2015, the Jaguars could save roughly $10 million by releasing the receiver before he plays another snap with the team.
Blackmon has had a rocky start to his NFL career and has now been suspended twice by the NFL for violating the substance abuse policy. He missed the first four games of the 2013 season. The second-year receiver also has had several DUI arrests, including one just two months before signing a four-year, $18.5 million contract with the Jaguars last season.
However, Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell stated that the team has no plans to cut ties with the young receiver.
In just four games this season for the winless Jaguars, Blackmon had 29 receptions for 415 yards and touchdown and was easily the most dangerous weapon for the struggling offense. Blackmon had 865 yards and five touchdowns on 64 receptions his rookie season in 2012.
