Bears vs. Rams 2013 final score: Chicago stumbles in 42-21 road loss to St. Louis

The Rams stay alive in the playoff picture with a 42-21 win over the Bears.

The St. Louis Rams crawled back into the wild card race with a big 42-21 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday. St. Louis improves to 5-6 on the season, while the Bears fall to 6-5.

The Rams put on a clinic early in the game, scoring touchdowns on their first three drives. Tavon Austin got things off to a quick start with an impressive 65-yard touchdown. St. Louis got the ball back after a fumble by Matt Forte in his own red zone and cashed in with a goal line touchdown by Zac Stacy, giving them a fast 14-0 lead. Josh McCown got the Bears on the scoreboard, hooking up with Martellus Bennett in the end zone, but the Rams struck back again with a touchdown to Jared Cook. McCown found Brandon Marshall to get the Bears close again, but the Rams went into halftime leading, 24-14.

The Rams suffered a loss in the second half when Zac Stacy left the game with a concussion. Chicago drove down to the goal line hoping to shorten the deficit, but they got stuffed on fourth down. The early deficit was too much for the Bears to overcome and the Rams sealed things with a 31-yard fumble return touchdown by Robert Quinn.

Josh McCown had another solid performance in the losing effort. He completed 36-of-47 passes for 352 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Brandon Marshall was his usual self, grabbing 10 catches for 117 yards and a touchdown.

Injury report

Linebacker Jon Bostic went down early in the game but came back in, missing just a couple of plays. Zac Stacy left in the third quarter with a concussion and was questionable to return. Cornerback Trumaine Johnson was the third Rams player to leave with a concussion.

Did they cover?

The Rams were favored by one or two points, according to Oddsshark. They had no problem covering that spread.
