It took 10 games, but the Carolina Panthers have finally surrendered a touchdown in the first half of a game. The defense hoped to extend its streak to an NFL-record 11 games, but the Miami Dolphins had other ideas when Mike Wallace had one-on-one coverage deep with Panthers cornerback Captain Munnerlyn.

The game had been a defensive matchup up to this point, with both teams getting steady reliable pass rushing without much offense on either side. Carolina struck first on a field goal, but the Dolphins made the first real breakthrough when Ryan Tannehill was under pressure once again. He evaded interior pass rushing, rolled to his right and found a streaking Wallace got behind the the Panthers secondary.
Miami currently leads 7-3, and it’s unclear whether the game can become a high-scoring affair with both quarterbacks under duress. There’s a feeling that touchdowns like this one were the exception rather than the rule, which could result in a gritty defensive affair.
