The Cleveland Browns' playoff hopes are all but gone after a lopsided loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, but wide receiver Josh Gordon had a performance for the ages. Gordon finished with 14 catches for 237 yards and a touchdown in the loss, setting the franchise record for receiving yardage in a single game.
Josh Gordon sets Browns record for most receiving yards in a game
Gordon had a historic performance in an otherwise miserable game for the Browns.

The record was previously held by Ozzie Newsome, who had 191 yards in a 1984 game against the New York Giants. Gordon also tied Newsome's record with the 14 receptions, and was one of the few things working in Cleveland's favor. The Browns lost yet another starting quarterback when Jason Campbell left with a head injury, so Gordon did most of his work with Brandon Weeden under center.
Gordon has off-field issues and was in the middle of swirling trade rumors this season, but his performance on Sunday shows what he’s really capable of. The Browns are wise to consider him a valuable building block despite his earlier troubles.
