Steelers vs. Browns 2013: Pittsburgh win ‘sucked the life’ out of Cleveland

Pittsburgh moved closer to a playoff spot by demolishing Cleveland.

The Pittsburgh Steelers went on the road and crushed the Cleveland Browns 27-11 on Sunday, moving into a tie for the sixth and final spot in the AFC playoff picture.

Despite scoring 27 points, the Steelers only amassed 302 total yards of offense. However, Cleveland was in a giving mood, turning the ball over four times. It did not help that Brandon Weeden was at the helm for the majority of the game after Jason Campbell was knocked out with a concussion in the third quarter.

Weeden went 13 of 30 for 209 yards with an interception and a touchdown late.

Over at Dawgs By Nature, Chris Pokorny summed up the feelings of most Browns fans after the defeat:

The Browns got poor protection from their offensive line, despite the fact that the Steelers were missing several of their defenders. Campbell looked indecisive again before taking a shot to the end (concussion) that wasn't called. The defense never got close to laying a finger on Roethlisberger. It was a game that just sucked the life out of everything Cleveland fans tried to buy in to this season.

As for Pittsburgh, the season is becoming more interesting by the week. After beginning 0-4 and looking like one of the worst teams in football, the Steelers have rallied to put themselves right in the mix before having a Thanksgiving showdown with the Baltimore Ravens.

Neal Coolong of Behind The Steel Curtain wrote about Ben Roethlisberger's performance, which while not incredible certainly was solid:

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw - and even kicked - his way through Cleveland's defense, completing 22 of 34 passes for 217 yards, two touchdowns and his second straight game without a turnover. He even punted in a short-field situation, pinning Cleveland deep in their own territory.
