Michael Crabtree injury: 49ers WR is game-time decision vs. Redskins

San Francisco might be getting one of its biggest weapons back in primetime.

The San Francisco 49ers are reeling after two consecutive losses, but might be getting wide receiver Michael Crabtree back against the Washington Redskins, according to Ian Rapoport.

Crabtree has missed the entire season to this point with an Achilles injury sustained in May, but is looking to return for the stretch run. His presence would be a very welcome one for third-year quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who outside of Anquan Boldin has no respectable receivers.

Crabtree is a former first round pick of the 49ers who had a huge season in 2012, helping guide San Francisco to the Super Bowl. Last year, he amassed 1,105 yards and nine touchdowns on 85 receptions to lead the team.

The youngster has only been able to practice for the last three weeks, so even if he plays it is uncertain how much of the field he would see. Coach Jim Harbaugh could try to ease him back in or go full-throttle with the playoffs very much in question for the 49ers.
