Dolphins vs. Jets 2013 odds: New York the narrow favorites at home
The New York Jets are narrow favorites over the Miami Dolphins for Week 13.

The New York Jets will take on the Miami Dolphins in a surprisingly important AFC East matchup on Sunday. The Jets (5-6) are tied with Miami (5-6) for second place within the division, and with so many teams with poor records this year, either team has a legitimate shot at the playoffs this season.
That’s quite surprising given how things have went this season and based on the expectations coming from the previous year. Rex Ryan is on the hot seat after multiple Jets implosions, while the Dolphins have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the league for many years. But both are approaching .500 and, for now, a spot in the playoffs.
New York, the home team, opened up as 3-point favorites for the matchup, according to OddsShark. The line narrowed on most books though, with some moving to even money on both teams. Still, the Jets were narrow favorites according to some oddsmakers, and could be had as 1.5-point favorites on some books, and 1-point favorites on others.
It’s pretty clear that the lines seem to suggest the teams are pretty equal. The Jets definitely have the better stats this season, and both teams have their quality wins.
The over/under for the matchup opened at 38.5 points. That total has gone under in four of Miami’s last five games, and in 14 of its last 21 games on the road. The total has gone over in four of New York’s last five games, however, and in four of its last six at home.
