Kansas City Chiefs outside linebacker Justin Houston is out 2-3 weeks with a dislocated elbow he suffered in the second quarter of last Sunday's loss to the San Diego Chargers, according to Ian Rapoport.
Justin Houston injury: Chiefs LB likely out 2-3 weeks with dislocated elbow
Kansas City will be without its most prolific pass-rusher for a few games, putting more pressure on his partner in crime, Tamba Hali.
Houston was in pursuit on the play when he was hurt, diving for the ballcarrier before landing awkwardly on his arm. After the play, players from both teams immediately began waving on the medical staff while Houston lay kicking his feet on the turf.
The 24-year-old is having his best season yet, racking up 11 sacks through the first 11 games. A third-year pro, Houston made his first Pro Bowl last season after amassing 10 sacks, while also being one of the best run defenders in the league at his position.
With Houston out of the lineup, the Chiefs other outside linebacker, Tamba Hali, is going to be even more in the spotlight. Hali had to be carted off the field last week with what appeared to be a serious injury, but was deemed to have only sprained his ankle. Hali will play Sunday against the Denver Broncos barring any setbacks. He has nine sacks this year.
