Le’Veon Bell injury: Steelers RB suffers head injury
The Steelers lost their starting running back down the stretch in their game against the Ravens on Thursday night.
Steelers running back LeVeon Bell suffered an apparent head injury during a rushing attempt near the end of Pittsburgh's game against the Ravens on Thanksgiving. Bell was headed for the end zone but was hit by several Ravens players, causing the rookie's helmet to come off. He was immediately checked on the field.
Bell was seen dazed as he walked off the field with less than two minutes remaining in the game. Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith was also visibly shaken up following the collision.
Originally ruled a touchdown, the play was called back to a little more than a yard out, because Bell's helmet came off before the ball crossed the goal line. The Steelers later converted on a fourth down with a touchdown pass to Jerricho Cotchery, but they failed to get the two-point conversion when Emmanuel Sanders could not hold on to the ball.
The Ravens beat Steelers, 22-20.
