Marques Colston inactive for Saints vs. Jets

The Saints will be without a major target on Sunday against the Jets.

The Saints will be without a weapon on Sunday against the Jets. Wide receiver Marques Colston is inactive for the game against New York, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Colston has been battling a knee injury and was listed as questionable on the Saints injury report.

Colston participated in just one practice this week. He was limited on Thursday but was absent from the field for the rest of Week 9's practices. The knee injury occurred during the Saints Week 8 win over the Bills. Sunday will be the first game that Colston has missed all season.

The former seventh-round pick has been a huge part of the Saints offense for eight seasons. This year, Colston has collected 27 catches for 342 receiving yards and a touchdown. With him out of the lineup, rookie Kenny Stills will see more targets and running back Darren Sproles should get more touches in the passing game.

On the other side of the field, the Jets will be without tight end Jeff Cumberland and wide receiver Santonio Holmes on Sunday. Holmes has been out of the lineup since Week 4.
