Buccaneers vs. Seahawks 2013 final score: Russell Wilson leads massive OT comeback win over Bucs

The Seahawks came back from an ugly first half to beat the Bucs and move to 8-1 on the season.

The Seattle Seahawks came back from a 21-0 deficit to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 27-24, in overtime. Seattle continues its unbeaten streak at home and the Bucs are still winless on the season.

The Seahawks came close to taking an early lead, but Russell Wilson threw an interception on the opening drive. Neither team scored until the second quarter, when Mike Glennon hit Tim Wright for a touchdown. Once again Seattle's offense failed to do anything for most of the first half, but the real surprise was that the Bucs were punching the Seahawks defense in the mouth.

Tampa Bay went up, 14-0, when Glennon hooked up with Tiquan Underwood, and things really collapsed for the Seahawks. Jermaine Kearse fumbled the ensuing kickoff, and Tampa Bay made him pay. Mike James threw a jump pass to Tom Crabtree to go up, 21-0, in front of a stunned CenturyLink crowd. The Seahawks finally got on the board when Wilson found Kearse in the end zone, but that was their only consolation in a disastrous first half. The Bucs went into halftime leading, 21-7.

The Bucs added a field goal at the start of the third quarter, but the Seahawks offense finally woke up. Seattle drove 86 yards in nine plays, capped off by a 10-yard run by Wilson to cut the deficit to 10 points. After a rare defensive stop, Golden Tate took a punt return 71 yards to set up Seattle at Tampa Bay's 25-yard line. That set up a field goal by the Seahawks, going down by just seven points.

The Seahawks drove back down to the goal line, but Wilson threw his second interception of the day to Keith Tandy. Seattle's defense stepped up again, forcing a three-and-out by the Bucs. The Seahawks got the ball back and drove down to the red zone with less than two minutes left. They cashed in with a touchdown to Doug Baldwin, tying the game. Tampa Bay couldn't get into field goal range on the final drive, sending the game to overtime.

The Bucs got the ball first in extra time but were forced into a three-and-out. The Seahawks used Marshawn Lynch to pound the ball into the red zone. Steven Hauschka kicked the game-winning field goal to give Seattle another incredible comeback win.

Fantasy studs and duds

Mike James was a waiver wire hero this week, racking up 158 yards on 28 carries and adding a touchdown pass on his jump throw. Marshawn Lynch gutted through a minor knee injury, recording 125 yards on 21 carries.

Injury report

Marshawn Lynch banged up his knee early in the first quarter and was in and out of the game. Seahawks right tackle Michael Bowie left the game with a knee injury and was questionable to return. Max Unger left with a concussion.

Bucs defensive lineman Gerald McCoy went down in overtime, but his status is not known at this point.

Did they cover?

Seattle entered the game as 16-point favorites, according to OddsShark. The Seahawks obviously failed to cover.
