It remains unclear why Texans head coach Gary Kubiak collapsed during Sunday night’s game, but a battery of tests today hope to shed light on his condition.

Doctors will run tests on Kubiak to determine what happened, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Texans coach collapsed at the 20-yard line before he was attended to by team doctors and local medical staff. He was taken off the field via stretcher, and was admitted to an area hospital where he remains Monday.
Early reports indicated Kubiak was suffering from dehydration as well as exhaustion, according to Chris Burke of Sports Illustrated. There is no indication whether these reports were accurate, but they could represent a possible cause for the collapse outside of a serious medical complication.
Kubiak's collapse came in a week where it was revealed Denver Broncos head coach John Fox will miss 4-6 weeks while undergoing heart surgery on his aortic valve. He had initially planned to have the surgery in the off season, but the timetable was moved up as he was admitted to hospital with chest pains over the weekend.
The Houston Texans have not issued a statement at this time outside of a Tweet from the team’s official account shortly following the incident.
